Roman Electric | Uline Warehouse W6
Chad BraaksmaConstruction Project Manager, Uline

Roman worked two long weeks to make sure we finished on time and met our occupancy date. Trucks were rolling in the next morning with product. Roman always does a good job for us.

Uline Warehouse W6

Uline expanded its operations in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with the addition of the W6 warehouse—a 520,692 sq. ft. precast concrete facility designed to enhance distribution capabilities. Roman Electric was entrusted with delivering comprehensive electrical services, including design/build solutions, power and lighting installations, and new construction support, to meet the facility’s advanced operational requirements.

Challenge

The project required integrating Uline’s updated electrical specifications into a building already under construction during the cold winter months. This necessitated swift and strategic decision-making to adapt the electrical design without delaying the construction timeline.

Solution

Roman Electric responded promptly by implementing a 2,500-amp service, installing 1,222 Cree high bay interior LED fixtures, and setting up 87 exterior LED lights—marking Uline’s first facility with entirely LED lighting. The team also installed a 72 kW generator for emergency power, 38 battery chargers for electric forklifts, and 95 dock doors equipped with restraints and lighting. Advanced power link panels with programmable breakers were integrated, allowing remote access for Uline technicians and enabling the fire department to control exhaust and supply fans as needed.
