VA EHRM – Renovation Project
Under the VA’s Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) initiative, Roman Electric played a pivotal role in the transformation of two wings of a historical late 1800s building into state-of-the-art training classrooms and administrative offices. This project aimed to modernize facilities to support the VA’s transition to a new electronic health record system, ensuring that staff had a technologically advanced and comfortable environment for both learning and administrative duties.
Challenge
The significant challenge in this project was adapting the aged infrastructure of a building constructed in the late 1800s to meet modern architectural, power, and technology requirements. The task required not only a sensitive approach to preserve the historical aspects of the structure but also substantial modifications to support advanced electronic health record systems and modern office functionalities.
Solution
Roman Electric addressed these challenges by meticulously upgrading multiple electrical panel boards throughout the building and constructing several IT closets essential for modern connectivity and network capabilities. These enhancements were crucial in transforming the old space into a fully functional modern office environment. The careful planning and execution of these upgrades allowed for the seamless integration of modern technology without compromising the architectural integrity of the historic building, showcasing Roman Electric’s expertise in blending old and new to meet contemporary needs.
